Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said this was the result of the government's resolute and effective efforts for "promotion and progress" of meritorious youths from minority communities. This year, 145 people belonging to minority communities have been selected in the prestigious Civil Services exam conducted by the UPSC.
